The short of it: I first played Ladykiller years ago, back when I was a young, sweet, innocent catboy in need of some improper education. (I assure you, that time existed.) If you'd told me, back then, that I would someday sign myself up to plant my ass in front of some monitors and a microphone, fire up Discord, and attempt to voice-act every damn groan, moan, and line in that proudly NSFW game for a potential live audience of people I know… I would have died. I'm taking bets on whether the shock or the embarrassment would have ended me first.
But here we are in the year 2024, and I've got a lot less shame under my belt. (Wanna see?) Turns out, love does conquer all. It's made this humble catboy into a streamer slash chaos magnet that seeks out both goofy and serious voice work while playing their favorite games with friends. (Don't hire me please. I'm untrained and dangerous.) At some point, while reading suggestive lines in some other game, I joked that I should try voice-acting Ladykiller. It… was 500% a joke. But my inner demons offered to hold my beer. And after a few months, I relented.
Why? I wanted to see how far I'd come (every pun intended) on my journey as a catboy of ill repute. I wanted to test the modest voice-acting skills I'd built since I started streaming. But more than that, I wanted to use my little platform to raise awareness of a great game made by, for, and about other LGBTQIA+ folks and their experiences. These days I know myself for the transmasculine nonbinary person I am, but the Beast still feels like a sister from another mister. I hope she and the other characters can be lifelines for others still walking their own paths.
In any case, I did the thing. Or I'm doing the thing, if this isn't over yet. Never thought I'd find myself doing audio erotica, but it's funny where life takes us if we let it.
